Guest: John Prados, author of The Family Jewels: The CIA, Secrecy, and Presidential Power and twenty other books. He is a senior fellow of the National Security Archive in Washington, DC, which seeks out and publicizes newly-declassified documents worthy of public attention.
In The Family Jewels Prados notes the uncanny parallels between the CIA’s “family jewels” scandals first publicized by Seymour Hersh in 1974, and current intelligence-community scandals including NSA spying, torture, kidnapping (sorry, I meant “extraordinary rendition”) and assassination.
