RE your 5/30 interview with Webster Tarpley: We won't have a massive welfare state without a massive warfare state. The banking cartel enables both – without it, both have to be paid for with actual productive wealth, rather than the debt enabled by fiat money. So supporting a welfare state means kissing bankster keister.
As to his point that the founders envisioned and would approve of the new deal, they'd actually have been aghast. First that we rejected constitutional money and went bankrupt a mere 20 years later, and second that we allowed massive centralization of power in DC. The founders allowed the states to do whatever they wanted – if a state wants to allow collusion between government employees and politicians to loot the private work force, that's the states' business. Unfortunately, socialism has to be universal: If you allow people to vote with their feet, productive people will always leave it. So Tarpley's worldview gives us leviathan, and the ruin of property rights and sound money.
