William Engdahl: No US recovery for at least 15 years!

Tuesday, April 13th, 9-10 a.m. Pacific (noon-1 pm Eastern) on http://NoLiesRadio.org, to be archived here a few hours later..
Economist William Engdahl writes for GlobalResearch and other outlets. He is the author of Gods of Money. Wall Street and the Death of the American Century (2009), Full Spectrum Dominance: Totalitarian Democracy in the New World Order (2009), Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of GMO (2007), and A Century of War: Anglo-American Oil Politics and the New World Order (2004). In a recent interview with Russia Today, Engdahl debunks the “recovery” and says real US recovery won’t come for at least 15 years. He argues that Europe is torn between the sinking Titanic of the US dollar system and the emerging economic powerhouses of Eurasia.

  1. Good show! Engdahl argued that most people are "living in a goldfish bowl" — they are being deliberately deceived by anglo-American elites about the economy, the political system, war and peace, and even global warming and peak oil. Is the master of the matrix still David Rockefeller, now well into his 90s? And does geriatric insanity explain the doddering madness of the increasingly decrepit empire? Should the people rise up, seize power, and send David Rockefeller to a labor camp, so he can at least get to taste honest work before he keels over? Engdahl's suggestion makes sense to me. Let the revolution begin!

Thanks for the interview with Engdahl. His first book A Century of Oil read to me like a thriller. So well researched, yet so profoundly idiosyncratic…I mean no one else had put those ideas together. It was illuminating to understand the reason for his trilogy coming from Kissinger's remark in 1972, as he said. I had thought he was just mystifyingly wide-ranging: but no…a method to his madness. You have to admit all his work is driven by a suspicion of conspiracy, yet he makes me feel grounded somehow, and less panicked.

    So do you sometimes.
Try to make him a regular if you can.

Good show! oops, William is now getting into fossil fuel resources and perhaps he's right and I have some things to learn… that's ALWAYS the case… But, I wonder if he's read "Twilight in the Desert" and I would like to ask him WHY we are now going after the Tar Sands in Canada as fast as possible when it SO much less profitable than conventional oil exploration. I'd also like to ask him if he's read some of the peer reviewed journal articles on the global warming issue, or if he's familiar with the melting of glaciers in recent history. People who spend time in the mountains, or live near them and depend on glacial melt for water, KNOW that glaciers are melting very quickly, since they're now into that topic. Just google for photos of glaciers receding. (The word that I got from a planetary scientist at the U of A who helped out a lot on the Mars missions is that the sun's output at this time in its life is very constant and that variations in our orbit account for ice ages, which is the commonly held belief among the knowledgeable on these topics. There is also some, scant, evidence that we should now be in an ice age, and, the glaciers are melting.)
