By Webster G. Tarpley,

Washington DC , January 5, 2010 — Obama’s speech this afternoon was an incongruous performance.  On the one hand, he angrily detailed a catastrophic breakdown in US intelligence procedures leading to the near-massacre of hundreds of airline passengers in the skies over Detroit on Christmas Day.  On the other hand, there was no purge of the corrupt, complicit, and incompetent officials who had made this incident possible.  No firings were announced.  No heads rolled.  The rogue network or invisible government of treasonous and subversive moles inside the US government which is behind the Detroit incident, and so many other incidents, remained untouched once again.

The expectation that Obama might actually do something to combat the rogue network across US government institutions which inflicts terrorism on the American people and the world had been raised the night before in an interview by Washington journalist Richard Wolffe on Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC Countdown program. Wolffe, citing high-level White House officials, had reported that there was an investigation into whether the security lapses leading to the Detroit Christmas incident had been intentional and deliberate, and thus the products of conscious sabotage. Wolffe had stated: “It seems that the president is leaning very much towards thinking this was a systemic failure by individuals who maybe had an alternative agenda….The question there is again, cock up or conspiracy. Was there a reason these agencies were at war with each other that prevented that intelligence from being shared?” ( The goal, summarized Olbermann, was either a “turf war” or else the desire “to make somebody [Obama] look bad.” In reality, the goals involve a domestic police state and foreign geopolitical adventures.

Wolffe’s report had suggested that at least some firings were in the offing for officials responsible for the failure to stop Umar Farouk Mutallab from boarding his flight from Amsterdam to Detroit , despite the cascade of red flags associated with this particular patsy.  But in his speech, Obama did not lay a glove on the invisible government forces which stage false flag terror incidents to manipulate public opinion and politics in the direction of increased totalitarianism at home and aggression abroad. Obama talked about what he would not tolerate, and about accountability in the abstract, but did not provide any concrete retribution to make moles think twice about future actions.  Even David Gergen, the former White House official who faithfully represents the oligarchical point of view, told Wolf Blitzer on CNN that he considered it virtually inconceivable for Obama to make such a speech without firing some failed officials.

Obama’s situation offers certain parallels to the experience of John F. Kennedy in the Bay of Pigs invasion of April 1961.  Upon entering office, Kennedy had been convinced by Allen Dulles and Richard Bissell of the CIA to support an invasion of Cuba , which the CIA promised would lead immediately to an insurrection throughout the island and thus to the overthrow of Fidel Castro.  Instead, the invasion was a catastrophic failure and humiliation for the United States and for Kennedy personally. When Kennedy came into office, he had been inclined to work closely with operatives like Allen Dulles and Bissell, who personified the rogue network in its then-current form.  Helped along — according to some accounts — by General Douglas MacArthur, Kennedy realized that the geopolitical forces behind and above the presidency which were seeking to use him for their own ends were also more than willing to ruin him politically and to cast him aside as an expendable puppet at the first opportunity.  Over time, this led to Kennedy’s deep and abiding mistrust of the rogue elements dominating the Pentagon, the CIA, the FBI, and other elements of the US government — a mistrust which allowed Kennedy to resist the lunatic proposals for general war advanced by the rogue elements during the Cuban missile crisis. In the short run, Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs experience impelled him to fire Allen Dulles, Richard Bissell, and CIA deputy director Charles Cabell within less than a year after the failed invasion. Obama needs to imitate Kennedy’s response, on the fast track.

Today, the breakdown crisis of the Anglo-American world system is far more acute than anything Kennedy had to face. Obama needs to muster something more than mere impotent rage about what is happening to himself.  If Obama wants to avoid the disastrous outcomes for himself and the country which are now clearly delineated, he will need to mount an ambitious purge of subversive and treasonous moles inside the federal bureaucracy, along with the incompetents, time servers, and bunglers who are happy to play along with the rogues.

Almost any of the twenty-odd officials who attended Obama’s special meeting in the White House today could be candidates for ouster for reasons of incompetence or worse. One obvious choice would be Michael E. Leiter, the head of the National Counter-Terrorism Center , which has the responsibility of integrating all the information from 16 agencies which was so obviously not integrated in the Mutallab case. Another might be Leiter’s boss Dennis C. Blair, the Director of National Intelligence or intelligence czar created after 9/11. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is widely discredited, and has lost the confidence of the American people through her interviews if nothing else. Napolitano is also the keeper of the no-fly list, on which Mutallab needed to be listed, but was not. Hillary Clinton’s State Department failed to revoke Mutallab’s US entry visa after the Nigerian’s father warned the US Embassy in Nigeria about his son’s visit to Yemen  — an outrageous lapse, or a deliberate sabotage. Leon Panetta’s CIA also had that information, and failed to make sure it was acted on. Gen. James Jones, the head of the National Security Council, is responsible for the overall coordination of the government, which in this case was substandard. FBI Director Robert Muller’s agents are up to their usual tricks of suppressing evidence in regard to the “well-dressed Indian” and the “man in orange” on the Detroit flight reported by an eyewitness, the Detroit attorney Kurt Haskell. (See Firing any of these failed or complicit officials would be a good start.

If Obama continues to punt on real accountability, the rogue network will conclude that he is indeed the weakling and pushover which French President Sarkozy and others have suspected him to be. In that case, the handwriting will be on the wall for new world catastrophes.

Tarpley's discussion of the old CIA hands reminds me of the best line in the new Winston Churchill biography by Paul Johnson.

Allegedly Churchill quipped about John Foster Dulles that "he'd make a good declension, 'dull, duller, dullest'."

Tarpley seems to have hit upon most of the themes I've come to be aware of regarding the peculiar instance of a fear-inducing false flag Christmas present to the traveling public from our Operation Gladio psychopaths.

The WSWS boys seem to have also taken quite an interest in this operation:

It boggles the mind that no one could suspect:

    1. Lone man boarding flight having no luggage
    2. Picks Seat 19 over the fuel tanks – does not trigger suspicion (why have the airlines not being screening those wishing to be seated over fuel tanks??
    3. One whose father had forewarned the authorities about being radicalised
    4. Decides to cause a fire 10 minutes before landing time
    5. Starts a small fire that goes nowhere
    6. Is jumped by a man ready to nail him two seats behind
    7. Readily admits that he was on a mission from Al Qaida

Sorry, but the dots don't connect as the authorities want.

If this does not seem like a psy op, then I wonder what else to call it!!

Actually, I wrote a letter to Obama advising him that he is being used, and that he should start by firing Rahm Emanuel. This was before the crotch bomber (Cindy Sheehan's sobriquet for the spaced out patsy).

OR he should resign himself, otherwise he takes responsibility by default.

It looks like the whole event was stage managed. If they got the guy through all the security that should have stopped him, and then his bomb failed to blow, it is likely that that was the idea. Not to blow up the plane, in their compassion for the people on the plane, not to mention the cost to the airline, they just wanted to sell more scanning machines to the public and more drone attacks and US troops in yet another hapless Muslim country.

It was hard to read through the beginning of that screed but I'm glad I did. You saved the best for last when you name the people that should be fired—the majority of them being hired by obama to begin with. as far as "a police state" being a goalby some boogeyman? obama has stated that he wants this. Remeber his wanting federal police?

Here is the real reason, I believe, that all the hoopla and lies about "winning" in Afghanistan are being pushed now. A brand new AF intelligence-gathering aircraft just has got to be tested—on real human beings—by the Government that, when something like a "surge" is forced on us, with a little help from a play-dead airport security team and someone who is escorted aboard a civilian jetliner to scare the hell out of Americans who have no concept of the corporate-CIA-Congress and Administration nexus. The American sheepizens follow the well greased lying machine to another addition to the war that was started through the same trade-craft:
One wonders if the bomb was actually set to detonate, or be detonated. Was the underwear man some kind of CIA play-actor to be paid later if he didn't get caught?

Kind of reminds me of Nixon after he (his CIA thugs) got caught in the Watergate break-in. When Nixon needed to have his thugs out of the way, he made sure they stayed in prison until he was safely out of office. Then, when he paid Dorothy Hunt, E. Howard Hunt's wife in checks and cash, siphoned by CIA money launderer, Manuel Rodriguez from George H. W. Bush's good friend, William Liedke through a Mexican bank account, and the jetliner, with Dorothy Hunt on board took off from Washington, DC toward Chicago, was diverted to a nearby smaller airport where the runway lights were switched off just as the plane made it's final approach, and crashed killing all aboard. The lights came back on within three minutes, and Hoover's FBI men were suddenly on the scene ripping off as much cash as they could find in the bloody wreckage.

Dorothy had said she had explosive information about Nixon, the CIA and something that happened nine years before Watergate, in a little triangular park on Elm Street, Dallas. But, Nixon admitted on tape the CIA's involvement that he called the Bay of Pigs thing. Haldeman knew what Nixon was talking about.

The military has got to pay for this stuff. The only way they can is by making sure their corporate masters get more contracts at greater loss to the tax-payers. Not only with the fact that the American people have never approved of these expenditures, with the real truth about 9/11 in hand. The people have not made an informed decision about these wars in the first place. Not to mention the lives of the innocent in those countries (Iraq and Afghanistan).

At least, this time around, the patsy was armed, but was not allowed to carry out whatever his orders were, from whomever they came.

    Just my thoughts,

  6. Anonymous Excellent record of what happened!

A passanger took video of this?

A Customs report denied at first a passanger wo got this guy on the plane??

Do you realize that the Amsterdam airport security is run by Israelis. I have heard this in several places and can attest to the fact that Israelis are in the airport, since I fly through there often

  8. Interesting that Webster is giving Obama the benefit of the doubt in this piece. His books and other writings suggest that Obama looks like a fully-controlled rogue network asset–yet here Webster is giving Obama a chance to bust the rogue network (which Obama of course flubs). Wolffe's appearance on Olbermann seems to have suggested to Tarpley that Obama could actually bust the rogue network if he wanted to. I always figured that the Democrats will get clobbered in the next two elections unless they expose 9/11 and pin it on the Republicans. If they do that, it would suggest that electoral democracy isn't a complete charade.

But I'm not holding my breath.

  9. Obama wants to avoid a JFK being pulled on his person…but that might be what it takes to wake up Americans to the approaching death of America, as we once knew and loved.

My former high respect for WGT is waning. I more than agree with Kevin. How can Tarpley think that Obama has either the will OR the power to dump the Rockefeller gov't?

Obama has been brought along to the Presidency with much more care than JFK. He's toed their line since Henry Kissinger gave him his first job out of college.

    Have THEY gotten to Tarpley?

  11. I don't think Webster's quite an Obama kool-aid drinker yet! (Actually I gave Obama a lot more benefit of the doubt in my book Questioning the War on Terror than Tarpley ever has.)

  12. Tarpley seems alone in the amount of brain matter necessary to muster actual proposals? He knows better than anyone OBama is the latest puppet. Tarpley employs writing devices and throws out actions that could possibly be taken by a strong president–if OBama were one–who would stand up to the puppetmasters (until they knock him off). Tarpley is right on target by comparing the underwear bomber incident with the bungling of the Bay of Pigs by Dulles, Cabel, et al and names names of who should possibly be punished in the current false flag terror action of the invisible government. Accountability has become a rare thought, indeed. Hats off to Tarpley. Is this the year of Terror? Next stop is the Winter Olympics in Vancouver?
