I watched the same video clip with disgust, but it only reinforced my conclusion, all but spelled out in chapter 5 of my 2007 book Towers of Deception: The Media Cover-Up of 9/11. The chapter is entitled "The Shame of Noam Chomsky and the Gatekeepers of the Left." I name a whole swatch of the gatekeepers. I also specify about 25 propaganda techniques that Chomsky, the specialist in propaganda, uses. They were on full display at UF. I think he was recruited out of high school — a not-uncommon situation. His frequent references to "insanity" and "lunacy" I speculate are unconscious projections of his need to maintain insanity in his own head in order to continue fulfilling his lifelong mandate. Here's what I wrote a friend after I watch Chomsky at UF: "Got around to viewing Chimpsky this afternoon. Yes he refers to insanity twice. His term is "total lunatics." His "proof" that Bush could not have done it is ludicrous (or total lunacy if you will), especially from one who a minute before went on about the need for real evidence or whatever. He admits he's a "know nothing" about nano-thermite and arrogantly told his questioner that he, the questioner, likewise knows nothing about it. The nerve. The moderator was well chosen as a shutoff agent. The audience is what you'd expect of people who think their time is well spent listening to Chimpsky. The highlight for me is the way he pronounced "Saudis." It comes out Sah-ooodies. Like an "ooga ooga" horn."

Once again, you are right on the money. You took the words right out of my mouth. In fact, last month I wrote the following comments at the web site of a publishing house that prints the books written by Dr. Chomsky, celebrated as the "most quoted English language author after Shakespeare."
Here is what I had to say to Chomsky, which the publisher has not made visible on their web site:
" The implications of "911 and American Empire" could cause cardiac arrest in some people… pretty soon enough Americans will see through the 911 fairy tale and woe be tide when they find out what really happened…
I note that many of the 911 truth seekers and petition signers are either retired or tenured. I suspect this is the result of job insecurity among working people. For example, in New York City, firemen who know that the three towers were brought down by controlled demolitions have been told to shut-up or risk losing their jobs and pensions…
Chomsky is elderly and tenured. So what is his excuse for being willfully blind to 911 when he is brilliant about everything else? Answer: His ego and his pride got the better of him.
Dr. Chomsky, you are surrounded by great books and you have even written a few yourself. In fact, the late Hugo Chavez quoted you at the UN and bin-Laden allegedly quoted you too..but I have to inform you that you are naive about many things… you were never a military man, you have never flown an airplane and you dont understand finance. You are out of your depth on the most pivotal event, to date, of the new century. Fact is, you were taken for a fool just like the bovine masses you pity and preach to. You got suckered and fell for the bin-Laden wizard-of-oz and 19 hijacker elves fairy tale. You are supposed to be this great big secular Jewish intellectual who sees more than anybody else but not this time. You were played for a fool and committed your reputation to the Leftist "blowback" hypothesis that 911 was payback for America's sins in the middle-east. Its the perfect theory for guilt-laden Liberals and Leftists and to admit now that much of your scholarship since 911 is based on a total fabrication of what actually happened… that your post 911 world view is actually based on a brilliant deception by the ruling elites you were supposed to have all figured out…would be too much for you to bear….
This is why, Dr. Barrett, the Leftist Chomsky, who you would expect to relish the opportunity to expose the deceptions of 911… cant reckon with the truth….
