Atzmon event makes Isthmus “Critics Choice,” draws local musicians!
Leading European jazz saxophonist and author Gilad Atzmon is gaining recognition in Madison ahead of his talk and musical performance tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21st, 7 pm, at the Glass Nickel Pizza, 2916 Atwood Ave. (admission free). Atzmon’s event was selected for the Isthmus “Critics Choice” centerfold, and several notable local musicians have committed to performing with him at the Glass Nickel.
Though Atzmon has written two novels, it is his recent non-fiction book The Wandering Who? that has sparked acclaim and outrage and drawn attention to his controversial ideas about Jewish identity and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His current book project involves free speech, self-censorship, and the legacy of George Orwell.
