Douglas Rushkoff on Fair and Balanced Tuesday, 1/19

Tuesday, June 30th, 9-10 a.m. Pacific (noon-1 pm Eastern) on http://NoLiesRadio.org: NYU professor Douglas Rushkoff, author of the new Life, Inc.., as well as Coercion: Why We Listen to What “They” Say (which I applied to 9/11 truth here, eliciting the compliment “terrific stuff” from Professor Rushkoff, whose take on 9/11 seems to have gone back and forth a bit…) Whatever his current views may be, Douglas Rushkoff has written more good, popular books than any other American professor I’ve yet heard of. His new Life, Inc.: How the World Became a Corporation is a provocative critique of the corporatocracy from a historical perspective. It includes a chapter deconstructing the central banking currency system, and looks at broader cultural and spiritual issues surrounding corporate culture.

In this show we’ll be discussing, among other things, his book Nothing Sacred: The Truth About Judaism. Rushkoff’s take on Judaism has been somewhat controversial. As I Muslim I find it appealing (which probably won’t help him that much with some of his Jewish readers…) As I wrote to him: “Nothing Sacred has pretty much converted me, to the point that I can’t help considering you a co-religionist. Iconoclasm, monotheism, social justice — Allahu akbar! ; – ) “

Sorry but Rushkoff sounds like more skillful Jewish spin and deceit. I wonder what Rushkoff would say about this book, because he could certainly not refute a word of it:

Judaism Discovered: A Study of the Anti-Biblical Religion of Racism, Self-Worship, Superstition and Deceit
By Michael Hoffman. Deconstructing the rabbinic texts line by line, Hoffman has discovered a terra incognita: Orthodox Judaism as the ideological survival of the most ossified traditions of Babylonian paganism, concealed beneath a complex system of dissimulation and misdirection. His unsparing thesis is a radical challenge to Judaism's claims to Biblical provenance and probity. "Judaism Discovered" differs from virtually all the writing on this subject which has preceded it in the past hundred years. It does this by means of empiric and strictly factual discovery of Judaism's deepest operational and spiritual secrets, and in particular Judaism's extremely circumspect epistemology of concealment.

  2. I'm skeptical of people who dismiss (or just diss) entire religious traditions. The major religions can be interpreted and practiced in many different ways, and followers of Judaism are especially well known for, er, cognitive diversity, as in "three Jews four opinions." Hoffman's version of Judaism sounds very different from Rushkoff's, and who's to say whose version is best? (I vote for Rushkoff's.)

This one gives me a chuckle, as someone born Jewish, but afflicted with terminal curiosity.

By the time I was 14, I was getting interested in Zen Buddhism. And why?

The founder of Zen (brought from India to China), Bodhidharma, met the Emperor of China. The Emperor asked, "what is the highest truth?"
    Bodhidharma replied, "Nothing sacred".

From that story on, I've laughed, questioned, and never looked back.

    So what is the answer?

    The Answer is to question.
    What's the question?

    Good try.

Just recently I received the following anonymous comment to my blog posting of why the US media is silent on the Israeli role in the Christmas terrorist story:

Political Zionism is evil and needs to die. Don't confuse Zionism with Jews because they arenot one in the same.

My swift and immediate response was:

Political zionism is jewish supremacism, jewish exceptionalism and jewish apartheid. Judaism inculcates jewish supremacism, jewish exceptionalism and jewish paranoia, i.e., that jews can’t trust non-jews.

P.S. When a Christian mentions Jesus in the presence of a Muslim, the Muslim is likely to say PBUH: peace be upon him. If a Christian were to mention Jesus in the presence of a polite and tactful jew, i jew most likele would respond with PDMH: please don't mention him.

  5. Dialogue with Wendy Campbell (posted with her permission):

    Hi Kevin,

I’ve seen Douglas Rushkoff talk before, and he is a deceptive New World Order Zionist. I even directly asked him questions about racist Israel! He’s not even an apologist for Israel! He thinks it’s fine to have a New World Order with Jerusalem as the world’s capital, and Jews in control!

    Don’t trust him!

    Wendy

Well, he sure didn't put up much of an argument for Israel on my show!

His outlook on Judaism and other things undermines the case for Zionism, and the Zionists know it and hate him for it.

But he obviously isn't a hardcore anti-Zionist either.

    -Kevin

Kevin, I’m sure that any “hate” that Zionists may have for Rushkoff is for show— just like they “hate” the Jewish Voice for Peace, which is a Zionist group for sure. I know, I’ve participated in their meetings and know the Truth about that.

I think you're wrong here. Read some of the countless angry reviews of his book on Judaism, almost all by Jews who notice that Rushkoff's version of Judaism leaves no place for Zionism (which is pretty much what he said, in so many words, on my show.) He subtly but unmistakably smashes their idol, the state of Israel, and they'll never forgive him for it.

I'm not saying you or I should agree with him on everything or lionize him. He wrote one terrible article on 9/11. But I'm impressed by a lot of his work, and as a Muslim (or should I say as the type of Muslim I am) I really like his overall take on Judaism, which parallels the Islamic view in several key ways and in general makes a whole lot of sense. People who like Karen Armstrong's approach to monotheism, as I mostly do, will probably also like Rushkoff's. Harcore Zionists are not likely to be among those people.

  6. Here is Douglas Rushkoff in the TV report about the Five Dancing Israelis –
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRfhUezbKLw

    Start in at about 1:40

  7. The stuff about the "dancing Israelis" and other evidence of Zionist/Mossad involvement in 9/11 is critically important. But this clip is misleading in two ways. It begins with the title "Were Jews notified in advance?" The idea that Jews IN GENERAL were notified in advance is both ridiculous and an invitation to ridicule the filmmaker as an anti-Semite. There are more than five million Jews in the NYC area, and obviously the vast majority could not possibly have been notified in advance. Sensible people know this, and are likely to immediately dismiss the filmmaker as a crazy bigot. A better question is "Were Israelis and some other Hebrew speakers who worked in the Towers notified in advance via a Hebrew language text message using Odigo, and perhaps other means." The Odigo story has been confirmed, Zim Shipping Lines broke its lease to leave the Towers right before 9/11, and only two or three Israelis instead of several hundred died in the Towers–an apparent statistical impossibility without such a warning. When the actual evidence is this strong (there's lots more where that came from) why obscure it with "Jews were warned" crap?

The second problem is that the Rushkoff clip is irrelevant to this issue. If Jews really smashed false gods, the first false god they would smash would be the official story of 9/11…which would be a very good thing! Go, Jewish iconoclasts! But while historically many Jews may have helped debunk some the lies their neighbors believed in, I don't see it happening now–unfortunately. Instead, many elite Jews have been lured into the satanic camp of Leo Strauss and the neocons, whose job is to create and promote lies (false gods) to brainwash the masses. And what bigger lie/false god/idol is there than the state of Israel? Rushkoff knows this and strongly hints at it in his book, and he got bashed by Zionists as a result.

  8. I can't cut and paste in this field here.
That guy Douglass Rushkoff appeared in an investigative report into the Dancing Israelis on 9/11.
You can see his appearance by searching youtube for "Five Dancing Israelis Arrested on 9/11" posted by BlogginForTruth
He appears near the end at about 1:50
I realised this when I heard him say to Kevin about jews, "We smash idols". Then I realised, "I've heard this before. I know who this guy is".
I wouldn't trust him at all. He needs to make categoric statements about what he has investigated regarding Israel's involvement and what he knows.
Like I keep remind all jews – If you can not show that you fought to have the criminal Zionist Jews who led, planned, orchestrated, and covered-up the truth about 9/11 then you can hang with the rest and that is not a threat.

Min. 52: Don’t look now Kevin but I think your anti-Christ jewish friend just stole your war-on-terror lunchbox. It might have had something to do with that “reality tunnel” smoke (min. 32) you were smoking? It might have had something with your commonly shared American “reality tunnel” smoke. You know, anti-semitism, Holocaust (with a capital H), eternal jewish suffering, etc.

Hold on. Chomsky just called and wants to reschedule that interview you. He says after hearing your interview with Rushkoff, he doesn’t know why he canceled. He wants to get together with you and Rushkoff to form up an ecumenical committee on the causes of terror. No wait! Not the causes. That’s unknowable, too complicated. It’ll be on creating a world that doesn’t engender terror. Dismantling jewish apartheid has nothing to do with it. Are you on board? You might have to smoke just a bit more of “visionary” (min. 30) Rushkoff’s “reality tunnel” smoke though. Just a little.

Hey, maybe the three of you can get together and smoke some payote… and agree that everything’s just relative anyway. It doesn’t matter who killed JFK… or who did 9-11… and those poor Palestinians? Who brought them up?
